My husband is rebuilding credit after filing for bankruptcy in 2020
He got some loans and credit cards (Cap One, Discover, NFCU, Upgrade (paid), recent Cap One Venture).
Had some late payments last year, but 11 months clean now. AU on a Chase Freedom ($30K).
Paid down cards to 15% utilization in Nov, got small CLIs from NFCU & Cap One.
Recently, he got Chase AMEX credit card denials, but approved for City platinum select ($10K).
we want higher limits for better mortgage/insurance rates.
NFCU only gave small increases after 2.5 years of good history.
Any advice on when to ask for CLIs again, and maybe to get the Chase and AMEX cards?
Current cards: Cap One QS ($3K), Plat ($500), Venture ($400), NFCU Plat ($2.5K), Cash Rewards ($3K), Discover ($4K), Upgrade (paid $1K), AMEX Delta ($4K), AMEX Plat (unlimited).
Any tips appreciated!
